Alimah Course

Alimah Course Introduction

Alimah course is a sacred path with an unbroken chain leading the seeker of knowledge to inherit the legacy of Rasul Allah (SAW). Taught by certified scholars in a traditional environment, the Alimah course educates students of knowledge by teaching them to not only comprehend but to be able to practice and teach the Islamic Sciences. The Islamic Sciences taught at the institute allow students to develop in-depth understanding of Arabic Grammar, Tajweed, Arabic Literature, Tafseer al-Qur‘an, Ḥadith, Islamic Law (Fiqh), and Islamic History.

In using an English and then Arabic medium, our seven-year Islamic Sciences program was designed and developed to cater specifically to English-speaking students in America. Darul Uloom New York’s Alimah course not only imparts raw knowledge but teaches its practical application with proper understanding. Classes will begin after Labor Day each year and continue till the 2nd week of August. Classes begin at 8:30 am and continue until 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday and 8:30 am until 1:30 pm on Saturday, and are followed by supervised group and individual study sessions.

No longer are young and motivated seekers of knowledge required to travel abroad to learn the authentic Islamic Sciences. You can now study the full-time Alimah Course right here in the United States of America. Alimah Course – Objective

Students of the course will gain many necessary skills for becoming upright altruistic citizens and help develop the future community of the Muslims in the United States of America. Along with studying the Islamic Sciences, informal classes are provided in delivering khutbahs, delivering speeches, conducting halaqahs, and propagating the faith.

Alimah Course – Duration

The entire course consists of seven intensive years. Students will cover all of the required subjects of a full-time Islamic studies course along with electives to expand their knowledge.

Alimah Course – Instructors

All of the Alimah course teachers at Darul Uloom New York are certified scholars from all over the world. Each teacher has studied under an Islamic institution from which they have received ijazah (traditional license) to teach the Islamic Sciences. Able to disseminate the tremendous amount of knowledge which they possess in various languages, Alimah course instructors are proficient in English, Arabic, Urdu, and Bangla.

Alimah Course – Class Size

Since we believe in quality over quantity, the small size of the classes are designed to promote close student and teacher interaction. Students get the opportunity to interact frequently with qualified scholars in and out of class, allowing them to participate in lectures, ask questions, or discuss issues in detail.

Alimah Course – Medium

The courses are initially offered in the English language. Students are also encouraged to develop Urdu comprehension so that they can benefit from the monumental work done on the Islamic Sciences in the Indian subcontinent. Intermediate and advanced courses are offered in Arabic and English.

Alimah Course – Diversity

Darul Uloom New York stresses diversity in its student population, admitting students from all cultural and social backgrounds. The course is not designed to be exclusively reflective of any particular culture or ethnic background. Our course is also available for both males and females.
